Electromagnetic Quick Release Drop Weight Fire Valve

Part Number: FV20-164

KEY FEATURES:

  • Instant release of Free Fall Fire Valves when de-energised
  • Ideal method for remote fire valve closure
  • E-Mag is a standard electromagnet, which will de-magnetise on loss of power
  • EMag2 version has inbuilt auxiliary volt free changeover contacts, which signal valve status

The E-Mag and E-Mag2 Electromagnetic Quick Release mechanisms, designed specifically for electrically actuated fire valve systems. These innovative devices offer instantaneous release of Free Fall Fire Valves upon de-energisation, providing an efficient method for remote fire valve closure.

The E-Mag features a standard electromagnet that demagnetises upon power loss, while the E-Mag2 boasts built-in auxiliary volt-free changeover contacts, signalling valve status. Both versions are versatile, capable of being installed as either ‘wall mounted’ or ‘direct mounted’ configurations.

In wall-mounted setups, the E-Mag or E-Mag2 can trigger the release of a stainless steel fire valve cable, functioning traditionally with pulley wheels and a fusible link. This setup utilises an interface to isolate fuel supply in response to a Fire Alarm or other control input by de-energizing the electromagnet, similar to the automatic closure of fire doors during a building fire alarm. Importantly, this system retains a fusible link, ensuring mechanical fire valve shut-off alongside electrical control.

Direct mounting configurations position the E-Mag or E-Mag2 directly above the fire valve, and do no use of a fusible link and relying solely on electrical control.

Both versions include a ‘Push to Test’ feature and offer 40kg electromagnetic holding power as standard.
